Meet the Team: Kellie Blank
Allow us to introduce ourselves, please meet Kellie!
Kellie’s journey with us is serendipitous; she was initially referred to our sister agency, OTHR, by a local vendor. Excelling in her role there, it became evident to the leadership that Kellie possessed a unique talent for conference planning. Upon joining RMM, her tenacity, organizational prowess, and keen eye for detail seamlessly integrated with our team and resonated with our clients. We cherish team members who are passionate about their work, and Kellie embodies this spirit wholeheartedly!
Outside the Office
Calling the Austin suburb of Georgetown home is a great balance of having access to all Austin has to offer while offering Kellie some space to enjoy a slower pace outside the city limits. It also gives her corgi, Finley, more space to stretch is short legs!
Kellie is an amazing baker, and since she works remote, the office looks forward to her visits when they get to indulge in her delectable treats!
Let the Q&A Portion Begin!
Kellie, please share the story of how you got to where you are in the industry.
I was fortunate that a manager in a previous role was one of my greatest supporters and knew of my ambitions in our industry. She encouraged me to chat with an event planner that came into our office one day - which ultimately lead to a new opportunity as an associate at their event production company.
After college, I moved back home and had to leave that job, but I found my love of the industry and looked for new employment in the field in Austin. After gaining experience, I was referred to our sister company, OTHR Agency. From OTHR Agency, RMM had an open position, and it was the best move for me – I feel a sense of belonging in all ways.
What is your favorite part of the job?
Seeing everything come together onsite after months(or more) of planning! It is so satisfying.
What is your career highlight?
Planning and producing my first solo RMM event.
Do you have any pet peeves?
Long email chains with large email signatures - they take up too much space!
Do you have any pets?
A red and white corgi, named Finley. He’s pretty cute (and sleepy in cars)
What is a big goal for you?
Visiting all the places on my bucket list – it’s a long list!
So far I’ve been to:
Italy
London
Paris
Cancun
Jamaica
Cozumel
Greece
Ireland
What are three things you do for fun?
Baking (alternative sugar & healthy desserts!), self-care, & watching TV/Movies. My all time favorites are Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, and Gilmore Girls.
What book do you gift most often and why?
I don’t gift books – should I be, any recommendations?!
What was your first job?
I was a retail sales associate in high school at a chain store that no longer exists. One day, I was joking about how terrible a hat looked that we just got in from shipment - and after trying it on I decided to keep one. I’ve held onto it this day - it looks like a stuffed polar bear!
If you could plan anything or if you had a bucket list event, what would it be?
San Diego Comic-Con! I love the content but most of all you can FEEL how much the attendees love being there. Plus its such a large scale event that it would be like climbing Everest (for us planners).
